The Namchik West Coal Mining Project is a Greenfield opencast coal mining initiative being developed by PRA Nuravi Coal Mining Private Limited in the Namchik–Namphuk Coalfield, located in Nampong Tehsil of Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh. Spread over a lease area of 137.488 hectares, the project is designed with a rated production capacity of 0.415 MTPA and a peak capacity of 0.6225 MTPA, with an estimated mine life of approximately 12 years. The project incorporates modern environmental management practices, including zero liquid discharge systems, dust suppression measures, and progressive mine reclamation, with a planned post-mining land use conversion into a water body to support ecological restoration and groundwater recharge. The project is expected to generate around 400 direct employment opportunities, thereby contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the region while adhering to statutory environmental and regulatory frameworks.
